HACM Welcomes New HUD Regional Administrator
The Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) welcomes Joseph P. Galvan as the new Regional Administrator of the Midwest Regional Office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In this role, Galvan is responsible for the oversight and delivery of HUD programs and services in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. He previously served in the role from 2001 to January 2009.
“Mr. Galvan is a servant leader who has a distinguished record of positive impact in communities throughout the nation,” said HACM Secretary-Executive Director Tony Pérez. “Having served in this role before, he has a sound understanding of the region's challenges and its assets. We are pleased to welcome him to this important leadership position.”
Prior to joining HUD, he worked as a Principal with Galvan & Associates advising housing authorities on program performance, compliance and executive management issues. He was previously the owner and president of his consulting firm and directed various planning and economic development projects for private and public-sector clients. He has also served as Community Development Director and Community Development Planner for several municipalities in Northeast Illinois.
