YouthBuild Class Meets with Western Building Products about Job Opportunities
The Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee’s (HACM) fourth YouthBuild class recently participated in a Lunch and Learn session with Western Building Products, one of the largest millwork distributors in the Midwest. Western is currently hiring and seeking candidates such as those in the YouthBuild program.
“It was a very informative and rewarding experience for the crew. This Lunch and Learn showed them that if they continue to work hard, that they can potentially have a very promising experience and career to look forward too! The interaction and the smiles afterwards reiterated the importance of my role and why we as an agency do what we do. This is just want the crew needed to know…that there is a light at the end of the tunnel; and no matter what they have been through in their past that they can now be in control of their futures. I’m glad that this partnership has been created, and I’m looking forward to participating in its growth and development,” said Nannette Ray, Lead Case Manager for HACM.
“I’m definitely looking forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership through future events and in-kind donations. We just provided a set of stair parts to Brown Deer high school as they have a great shop program, so again please don’t hesitate to ask. We see it as an investment,” said Garett Laugavitz, Western’s Marketing Manager.
