Public Notice is hereby given that the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) will hold a Public Hearing regarding adoption of a Smoke-Free Housing Policy and a Smoke-Free Housing Lease Addendum for all public housing developments and mixed finance (tax credit) developments owned by HACM.  This new policy is a significant amendment to the 2018 Agency Plan. The proposed policy will take effect on July 1, 2018.

This policy is in response to a final rule by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requiring all public housing authorities to enact a smoke-free policy.

This is a 45 day notice with an opportunity to present public written comments regarding this change from February 23, 2018 to April 9, 2018.

Interested persons are invited to comment on the draft policy and lease addendum at the public hearing. Written comments must be submitted to Mr. Antonio Pérez, Secretary-Executive Director, Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee, P.O. Box 324, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53201. Written comments must be submitted no later than noon on or before Monday, April 9, 2018.

A public hearing will be conducted on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 1:30 pm at City Hall Room 301-A, 200 East Wells Street, Milwaukee WI.
