...why you should become a participating owner in Milwaukee's Section 8 Housing Voucher Program!
You would be surprised to know that more than 2000 landlords currently provide housing for more than 4500 households through the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee Section 8 Housing Voucher Choice Program.  Participation in this program benefits both tenants and owners.  Consider the following:
 
  1. Your monthly rental payments are guarenteed. A check is mailed to you by the Authority on or near the first of the month.
  2. Although a federal subsidy is provided to the tenant, the Section 8 program is a private market based program. Rental rates are based upon the local market up to certain maximum limits.
  3. You get the tenants whose program eligibility, including criminal background history have been prescreened.
  4. Your property is inspected at no cost to you.
  5. Section 8 tenants are expected to comply with your lease and can be terminated from the program.
  6. You may rent to as many or as few Section 8 tenants as you choose.
  7. Section 8 assisted tenants must satisfy court judgements for damages or unpaid rent while a unit is under contract protecting the owner's interest.
  8. An owner can challenge the continued eligibility of a Section 8 renter if the tenant fails to satisfy judgements.
