Benefits at HACM

HACM offers an extensive network of programs and services to enhance your personal and professional life. Eligible employees can enroll in many benefits programs immediately.

As part of our Housing Authority community, you are very important to all of us at the Human Resources Department. That is why we are pleased to offer You and Your Benefits, a dynamic and flexible package of valuable programs. Through You and Your Benefits, you and your family have access to details regarding comprehensive health insurance, financial protection through life and disability insurance, a variety of tax-deferred and post-tax retirement savin gs options, and numerous resources to support your overall well-being.

You and Your Benefits is a comprehensive guide to help you understand all of the available options to make the best possible health decisions for yourself and your family. This handbook is provided as an overview of terms and conditions of the insurance, retirement, and wellness programs for the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee. Human Resources maintains plan guides, which contain more detailed information.

As part of our Housing Authority community, you are very important to all of us at the Human Resources Department. That’s why we are pleased to offer you a dynamic and valuable package designed to enhance your personal and professional life with our customized benefits handbook.

Finding Quality Care

Choosing the right medical plan takes careful planning - not just because your selections remain effective until the next Open Enrollment period or you experience a life event, but also because your choices have a big impact on your health and finances. HACM's You and Your Benefits package provides details regarding comprehensive health insurance, financial protection with life and disability insurance, a variety of tax-deferred and post-tax retirement savings options, and numerous resources to support your overall well-being.

Open Enrollment

HACM provides benefits to eligible employees and their dependents based on employment status, length of service, and other criteria. Staff should refer to specific benefit plans for information regarding eligibility and coverage for eligible dependents. Several of HACM's benefit programs require staff to enroll within a specified period of time or wait to make changes until the annual open enrollment period.

Group Insurance Eligibility

Eligible employees can enroll in many benefits programs immediately. Your eligibility for a particular benefits package depends on the type of job you have, the percentage of time you work and the length of your employment.

Workers' Compensation

It is the policy of the company to provide a workers’ compensation program at no cost to employees. This program covers any injury or illness sustained in the course of employment. Employees that have had an on-the-job accident or injury may be eligible for benefits; including medical care and income replacement under HACM's workers' compensation policy.
