
Kenneth Barbeau
Interim Secretary-Executive Director
HACM's Board of Commissioners appointed Ken Barbeau Interim Secretary-Executive Director on January 2, 2025. Mr. Barbeau has worked for HACM since 1999 and has served as HACM’s Chief Operating Officer of Program Services. He is responsible for the planning, design, implementation and management of all public housing resident services programs in Milwaukee, including programs that assist residents with employment, education, healthcare, senior and disabled services, financial education, and many other programs and partnerships. He also oversees HACM’s Section 8 program, public safety, and public housing wait list and screening functions. Mr. Barbeau previously worked as Director of Internal Audit & Compliance for an international healthcare organization, Pathfinder International, from 1991 to 1999 and worked for Ernst & Young from 1985 to 1991. He received his A.B. in Physical Sciences from Harvard University in 1981 and his B.B.A. in Accounting and MIS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1985.

Dena L. Hunt
Chief Operations Officer
Dena Hunt joined HACM in April 2024 as Chief Operations Officer. In this role, Ms. Hunt oversees day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and the execution of company objectives for the agency’s real estate activities and housing programs. Ms. Hunt has experience as an attorney/partner, guardian ad litem, housing program manager, business owner, analyst and advisor. Following her desire to work with the community, Ms. Hunt accepted a position with Milwaukee County’s Housing Division, as the HCV Program Manager. During her time with Milwaukee County Ms. Hunt initiated program changes and staff development with a focus on both customer service and compliance. Ms. Hunt accepted a position with HUD in 2016 and served in roles with the Office of Public and Indian Housing, the Quality Assurance Division and the Office of Field Policy and Management. Most recently Ms. Hunt served on the regional FPM leadership team for HUD’s Great Lakes Region, in support of HUD’s Region V Administrator. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UW-Milwaukee, and a Law Degree from Marquette University Law School.

Brad Leak
Chief Financial Officer
Brad Leak, who joined HACM as Finance Director in November 2024, has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer. In his new role, he will enhance internal controls and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting through improved policies, systems, and procedures. A seasoned finance and accounting executive, Mr. Leak brings extensive experience in governmental and nonprofit financial management. He has overseen multi-million and billion-dollar budgets, bond issuance, treasury management, and audit oversight, consistently achieving no material audit findings. Previously, he served as Director of Finance for the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, New Jersey’s equivalent to WHEDA. As a Senior Auditor for KPMG, he audited the City of New York and the New York Housing Authority. Mr. Leak holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rowan University.
